ABOUT
The goal of this project was to rethink and redesign two key spaces within the Software AG office—the Entrance Hall and the “John Atanasoff” room. The objective was not merely cosmetic but a complete functional transformation. The client needed the lobby to cease being just a transit zone for welcoming clients and to evolve into a “social hub”—a place for meetings, informal communication, and showcasing team pride. Simultaneously, the “John Atanasoff” room had to be adapted for new usage scenarios, merging relaxation with opportunities for group discussions.
CONCEPT
The guiding concept was “Multifunctionality through Design.” We aimed to strike a balance between corporate identity and coziness.
-
The Artistic Signature: Following the client’s specific request to integrate a “green element,” we created a unique interpretation of the company logo. Executed artistically using wood and Scandinavian moss, it serves as the central focal point of the entrance, softening the technological vibe.
-
Organization: The lobby concept relied on “clean lines”—all necessary storage spaces (wardrobes, cabinets) are cleverly concealed within the wooden paneling to avoid visual clutter.
ПРОЕКТ
The new entrance now performs three functions simultaneously: reception, socialization zone, and gallery. We designed a custom “Hall of Fame”—a shelving structure that gathers all the team’s sports trophies and awards in one place. This zone immediately communicates team spirit to both employees and guests.
“John Atanasoff” Room: In this room, the focus is on flexibility. We designed and built a custom amphitheater-style platform. It serves both as a relaxation zone (with soft cushions) for daily use and as an ideal spot for holding group gatherings, brainstorming sessions, and thematic discussions, breaking away from the standard conference table setup.
реализация
The execution required precise joinery work.
-
The Platform: The structure in the “John Atanasoff” room was engineered to be durable and ergonomic, allowing for seating on various levels. Wear-resistant materials were used to withstand intensive usage.
-
The Logo: Crafting the logo required a delicate balance between the natural material (moss) and the precise cutting of the wooden base to maintain brand legibility while appearing as a piece of art.
