A Dialogue Between Matter and Signs This sculpture is a visual metaphor for the connection between nature and human intervention. It stands in space like a small totem, radiating peace and stability. Its vertical form draws the eye upward, creating a sense of elevation and elegance.
Texture & Hidden Messages The heart of the composition is a massive piece of light, tough wood (wild fruitwood or shrub), which has preserved its natural curves and imperfections. Its surface features hand-engraved recurring “S”-shaped symbols and lines, resembling ancient runes or natural cycles. This detail transforms the sculpture from a merely beautiful object into a piece that tells a story.
Architecture of the Form The construction is built around a central axis of dark American Walnut that pierces through the light wood. The contrast between the dark, perfectly polished surface of the axis and the raw, warm texture of the central block is striking. The base features an unconventional design – a massive light block with an indentation where the supporting sphere “rests,” creating an illusion of balance and lightness.
